Proceedings
The absence of Ms.Sumithra M Gowthama, Senior Faculty from Krishnamurthy Foundation was recorded. The items included in the Agenda were considered one after another.
Changes in the Curriculum
The concerned staff members presented the modified syllabus before the Board of studies for Ratification.
Education in Contemporary India
Dr.Prabju Shakar suggested to include the following topics namely Action Research, concepts related to constitution of India and sociology of Education, Policy Amendments of NCTE 2017–2018 and Moodle course Management system in unit 3 and unit 4.
Language across the Curriculum
Dr.Kalaiarasi Suggested to change the phrase in unit 1, “The Power Dynamics of the standard Language” to “The Power Dynamics of the Subject”.
Knowledge and Curriculum
Dr.Kalaiarasi insisted to remove the topic “Characteristics of a good sullabus” Under unit 2.
Pedagogy of Tamil
Dr.Prabu Shankar suggested few authors to be included under the references and to include activity based Learning in Teaching Tamil to enhance Language Skills.
Pedagogy of English
Dr.Kalaiarasi Suggested to include PLAN (Programme for Learning in accordance with Need) Under Unit 3.
General Remarks
Dr.Vasanthi Madonna along with the joint suggestion of other members placed few changes in general for all pedagogy papers. She insisted to frame minimum objectives and to include online references for every pedagogy paper.

The Principal informed the members that (i) A National level Seminar on “Enhancing Holistic Growth of Teachers” will be organised for teachers. (ii) A one–day state Level Seminar on “current Trends in School Curriculum” will be organized for pre–Service teachers.
Resolutions
- It was resolved to carry out all the changes in the syllabus for B.Ed. The modified syllabi for the academic year were then approved.
- It was resolved to follow the Practicum component as prepared by TNTEU.
- It was resolved to conduct one National Level seminar on “Enhancing Holistic Growth of Teachers” for the teachers during the academic year 2018–2019.
- It was resolved to conduct one-day state Level Seminar on “Current Trends in School curriculum” for Pre-Service Teachers during the academic year 2018–2019.
